The New Xbox 360

Just the same as Sony slimmed down the PS3, Microsoft did the same with the Xbox 360.

The new Xbox 360 which was unveiled at E3 is smaller, thinner and elegant, with a noticeable difference in the noise level! The new Xbox 360 also known as the ‘Xbox 360 S’ were we presume the ‘S’ stands for slim, comes with an internal 250GB hard drive, which is removable just as the old one. It also has an internal WIFI module connector (802.11n), a digital audio port for connection to Kinect and two more USB ports having a total of 5.

The Hard Disk just as the previous model is removable however it is not compatible with older versions of the Xbox. The same story for the Memory Unit.

The new Xbox chassis has had a major remodeling; it is smaller and features a shape that reminds of an ‘x’ Xbox logo. Other distinctive features are the shiny black color and the touch sensitive buttons just like on the PS3.

The power brick is smaller and lighter than the previous Xbox’s which makes it consume less power! (A good excuse to convince parent’s to ‘play green’). The noise level has been dramatically decreased; this is because of one large fan instead of two.

The price tag remains the same at $300. The European debut is set for July 16. Microsoft has confirmed that Kinect will be launched November 4th, together with 15 games specifically designed for the new controller. Kinect will cost $150.
